    Introduction
    This Total Sediment Measuring Instrument is used to determine the total sediment in residual fuel oil with a viscosity of less than 55 mm2/s at 100°C and distillate fuel oil blended with residual components. The maximum total sediment of residual fuel oil is 0.5% (m/m), and the maximum total sediment of distillate fuel oil blended with residual components is 0.40% (m/m)..

    Structure
    1. Aging bath: electric heating oil bath that can keep 100ºC±0.5ºC.
    2. Filter element: made of brass, with copper steam coil attached. The filter element is set up above the vacuum flask.
    3. Thermometer: sub-immersion type, the immersion line is 50mm~80mm, and the maximum length is 220mm. The thermometer should be able to record temperatures ranging from 95°C to 105°C. The maximum graduation value is 0.5ºC.
    4. Oven: The control temperature is 110ºC±1ºC. It can evaporate the solvent, but there is no danger of fire and explosion.
    5. Stirring rod: made of glass or polytetrafluoroethylene, about 150mm in length and 3mm in diameter.
    6. Glass beaker: 30ml, either with low mouth or cone. 50ml, narrow neck.
    7. Weighing bottle: with frosted glass stopper, number, diameter 80mm, height 40mm.
    8. Vacuum source: It can provide the specified absolute pressure of 40kPa±2kPa (61.3kPa vacuum degree).
    9. Vacuum meter: It can record the specified absolute pressure or vacuum degree.
    10. Glass fiber filter paper: nominal aperture 0.0016mm, diameter 47mm.
    11. Cooling container: desiccator or other tightly capped container, used for cooling filter paper before weighing. No desiccant is used.
    12. Syringe or washing bottle with scale: the minimum capacity is 25ml, and the graduation value is 0.5ml.
    13. Tweezers: flat type.
    14. Balance: Sensitivity 0.1mg, used for weighing filter paper. Sensitivity 10mg, used for weighing samples.
